Embark on an epic journey up Guatemala's Acatenango Volcano! Trek 80% of its rugged terrain on Day 1, camp by Fuego Volcano. Day 2 offers a sunrise summit and descent to Antigua. Experience nature's power firsthand!
Join us on an unforgettable journey up Acatenango Volcano, the third-largest in Guatemala! Day 1 entails an exhilarating hike covering 80% of the volcano's terrain, lasting around 6 hours. Witness the awe-inspiring eruptions of Fuego Volcano as you warm up by the campfire at base camp. At night, opt for an optional tour to get up close to Fuego's eruptions (additional cost applies).

Day 2 begins with an early rise at 3:30 am to conquer the remaining 20% of the volcano, reaching the summit in 1.5-2 hours to catch the mesmerizing sunrise. After breakfast at base camp, begin the descent, arriving in Antigua by 1:00 pm. Don't miss this thrilling adventure and the chance to witness nature's power firsthand!

Note: This tour includes climbing Acatenango Volcano. You can opt for a tour to Fuego Volcano for Q300.00 per person, payable in cash to the local guide. Note that this is not part of the standard itinerary, so we don't provide any guarantee or insurance for this additional activity.

    • During high season, such as Holy Week, the Flower Festival, or any other event that closes off the city, the meeting point will be outside Antigua, as no vehicles are allowed to enter.

      Large-capacity backpack (50L+) with rain cover. You'll receive food, water bottles, and utensils to pack in your backpack for added comfort during your stay at the base camp. All camping gear, including sleeping bags, will be waiting for you at the base camp. You'll only need to bring the items mentioned above.

      This tour is conducted in Spanish. Our guides are from a nearby local community and speak basic English to provide general instructions.

      Café Condesa is a well-known café in Antigua and serves as our meeting point. Our offices are located outside Antigua, near the base of Acatenango Volcano.

      After meeting at Café Condesa, we’ll take you to our office for gear distribution and a brief orientation. Please follow all instructions carefully.

      Acatenango: high difficulty (8/10), ~5-hour hike. Fuego: very demanding (10/10).

      Weather changes quickly; be prepared for sun, cold, wind, and rain. Bring waterproof gear and keep belongings in plastic bags.

      Luggage can be stored free of charge at our office (not Café Condesa)

      Trekking gear and porters available for rent; paid on-site, subject to availability. Porter service: Q300 per way (paid directly)

      Dietary needs not guaranteed—bring your own meals if required.

      Basic restroom available (simple cabin)

      If no availability, an alternative date will be offered
